Signal #001 — Welcome Edition
The Ministry of Road Transport & Highways has proposed a 45-day compliance window for all traffic challans. If you neither pay nor officially contest a challan within 45 days of issue, it is automatically deemed accepted — and your Driving Licence and Registration Certificate get flagged 'not to be transacted' on the Parivahan portal. What that means: you cannot renew your DL or RC, transfer vehicle ownership, or apply for a duplicate. The block stays until all pending challans are cleared. If you want to contest: submit a dispute with supporting evidence within the window. If the authority does not resolve it within 30 days, the challan is unenforceable. Check your pending challans at echallan.parivahan.gov.in before the deadline catches you.
